The
Dodecanese islands are the furthest islands group from the
mainland, situated along the coast of Turkey.
The Dodecanese group consists of twelve major islands and many smaller.
The strategic position of the group made of the area the scene of
a turbulent history.

Situated at the border
of Europe, the group proposes a great variety of architectural styles
influenced by the Eastern and Western culture.
The more important of the Dodecanese islands are: Rhodes,
Kos, Kalymnos,
Karpathos, Patmos,
Tilos, Symi,
Leros, Astypalea,
Nisyros, Kassos
and Halki.
The islands’ turbulent history gave them many archaeological
and classical remains but the islands have much more to offer to
the visitor: beautiful landscapes, endless sandy beaches, charming
towns and villages, castles…
The most famous of these islands is the Medieval
Rhodes but every island worth to be visited. Each island has its
unique beauty and charm. |
